Loss of a Loved One

The death of a loved one is a unique and often isolating experience. Grief can manifest in many ways causing prolonged sadness, anger, depression and anxiety. Often simply being in a safe and supportive environment in which to discuss these feelings can be incredibly healing. Advocate Hospice grief counselor, Claire Smith, M.A., will be facilitating this monthly support group in which each individual’s grief will be explored and coping methods will be discussed. Holding Onto Hope

Younger Widowed Support Group

Younger Widowed Support Group is an ongoing support group for younger widowed persons who have dependent children at home and/or are 55 years of age or younger. Second Tuesday of the Month. Fee: $5.00 per session. Phone 847-685-9900

LGBTQ Grief Group

LGBTQ Grief Group is a monthly group designed to help grieving members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning communities to find support and information as they mourn someone they love. Second Monday of the month. Registration required. Fee: $5.00 per session.

Adult Sibling Loss

Adult Loss of Sibling is a six-week group for adults grieving the loss of a sibling. Registration required. Fee: $90.00 for 6 sessions.

Good Mourning Program
July 21 & August 18 - 6:45 - 8:00 PM

Good Mourning Program is a monthly support group for children, teens and families who have lost a loved one through death. New: Young Adult Grief Group (ages 18-25). Preliminary interview required prior to registration. Third Monday of the month. No monthly meeting in September due to CAMP on September 20 & 21
